Westmoreland County Special Education
Westmoreland County Public School system offers a variety of free special educational programs which serve children between the ages of two and twenty-one. In order to locate children who are suspected of having a disability, the school system is conducting its annual Child Find Campaign. Children with a disability whose second birthday falls on or before September 30th of the current year and have not reached their twenty-second birthday on or before September 30th of this year may be considered for these programs.
School Year 2020-2021 Special Education Parent Survey Now Available
The Indicator 8 Parent Involvement Survey collection period is upon us. The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is asking for your assistance in promoting the completion of the survey by families who have a child or children with a disability and is provided special education services through an individualized education program (IEP). Families who have more than one child receiving special education services should complete a survey for each of their children. Please note that the format of the Indicator 8 survey has not changed from last year. The online survey will be opened beginning June 1 and extend through December 17, 2021. Surveys will be available for completion in English and Spanish at the following web addresses:
